Barlestone Judo Club is a club affiliated to the Amateur Judo Association and meets every Friday night at Barlestone Primary School (See Contacts for Address). There are many aims of the judo club other than just to learn this exciting olympic sport. We try and teach all our students respect, self-discipline, confidence, social skills and most of all having FUN.

Wayne Lakin took over Barlestone Judo Club in October 07, and to get the club off to a flying start Wayne took Enjoy Judo into the local Primary Schools to help create strong School Club Links. From this we enrolled a whopping 30 new members and to date we now have between 30 and 55 on the mat every Friday.

Barlestone Judo club is open to all and accepts members from the age of 5 years and upward, after the first 4 weeks children need  to purchase a licence from the Amateurs Judo Association. The licence is the child’s Personal Accident insurance and also allows them to grade and enter competitions. The coaches at Barlestone are very professional and take theirs and the children’s hobby very seriously they are all CRB Checked and have a first aid qualification amongst numerous sporting qualifications.

Look Forward to seeing you soon!
